Who are you?
I'm John Sherrill, a scholar of digital rhetoric and technical communication. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Scientific & Technical Communication at Michigan Technological University in April of 2012. As of Fall 2012, I'm studying and teaching in Purdue's Rhetoric & Composition Master's program in English. My research interests broadly focus on collisions and coalescences between digital media, rhetoric, technical communication, and users. In my spare time, I make digital and non-digital things (like handwritten letters), take photos, and cook.

What's "Fleeting Carrots" supposed to mean?
The title "Fleeting Carrots" stems from the idiom of a carrot on a stick and the process of pursuing questions without promise of definitive answers. Essentially, it's the result of asking two questions: "What's up Doc?*" and "What's the next question?" in hopes of a journey, not a prescribed destination. This blog is about exploring questions rooted in rhetoric, digital media, education, and literacy in hopes of seeing something new and enlightening others along the way.
